Now before I start, I have to say this. I hate over-hyping sports events WAY before they happen. It annoys the crap out of me.
Moving on. I was watching SC the other day, and realized something pretty remarkable about this year’s NBA season. The Celtics with the Big 3, KG, P squared, and Ray Allen, are on pace to go 74-8, which would give them the best record in the history of the NBA. But will they keep up that pace. Here is my take. First the reasons they will.
1. The Atlantic Division SUCKS!! – The toughest team in their division is the Raptors!! Come ON!!!
2. The Eastern Conference is weak! – The get to play the Knicks, Heat, Bobcats, and Bulls a combined 11 times out of the next 60 games.
3. They are experienced.
4. They aren’t head cases who want the ball. Kobe Bryant disease!
5. Who can defend them.
Okay, not reasons they won’t end the season with the best record of all-time.
1. It’s a really long season.
2. The media will put so much pressure and attention on them that they will fall short.
3. They are experienced, a.k.a. OLD. By mid March Ray Allen will be tired.
4. The Bulls, and Heat won’t be this bad all year. They will figure it out.
5. They have to play Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Phoenix 2 times each and Denver once. They will lose at least half of those games.
So the reality is, the 95-96 Bulls record will stay in tact. Chances are one of the Big Three suffers an injury.
Although I am a Cavs fan and have been all my life, I do have to give credit to the Bulls dynasty and Michael Jordan. A person can only take so much playoff defeat by one man.
One final note: The only way the Celtics break the Bulls record is if Tom Brady and Randy Moss sign with them. Coming soon. Why the Patriots of overrated. Yes I said overrated.
Cool blog. I think you are totaly right. And even if they do beat the Bulls’ record, look at the teams the Celtics face compared to the teams the Bulls faced! The 95-96 teams were amazing! The Jazz, Magic, Lakers, Rockets, Pacers, Heat, and Knicks were all Championship quality teams that were the whole package. Who is ther now? The Spurs, Suns and maybe the Jazz on a good day. Truth is, if the 95-96 Bulls were playing today, they would go for AT LEAST 75 or 76 wins.
The Patriots are not overrated. How can you win 14 games in a row, half by at least 20 plus points a game and be over rated?
Now the Celtics . They are over rated. They play the Raptors, Knicks and Net the most because they are in their division. They have yet to play a good West team and have only played 5 teams with winning records.
They also have yet to go on a long road trip and I can’t remember the last time they played back to back games let alone back to back games against Texas teams IN texas.
To FireDannyAinge:
Even if the patriots aren’t overrated, Tom Brady is still a douche bag!
I am a Patriots fan and I don’t like Tom Brady so I will give you that.lol
(sorry Yankee hats make me ill especially when you wear one hat in Boston and another in NY. The Patriots players like Brady and Rodney Harrison are jealous of the Red Sox love this town has)
